A German documentation site that tells the history of film technology as a clear timeline with sourced milestones — cameras, lighting, and grip/camera movement — from the pioneers to today.

The challenge

The history of film technology is fascinating but scattered across forums, manuals and anecdotes; there was no calm, sourced, German-language overview that a film/camera enthusiast could actually read end to end.

The approach

  • A chronological Timeline of film technology with milestones that are actually cited.
  • Three deep-dive craft pages — the history of the film Camera (from hand-crank and mirror shutter through Panaflex to ARRI Alexa and RED), Film Lighting (from carbon-arc through tungsten and HMI to Kino Flo and LED walls), and Camera Movement & Grip (dolly, crane, Steadicam, gimbal).
  • A fast static site with a warm editorial dark theme.
  • Structured data and clean URLs for search and AI visibility.

The result

A coherent, readable, public history hub — accurate enough to cite, calm enough to read for pleasure.

What this demonstrates

  • Editorial content architecture.
  • Turning scattered domain knowledge into a structured, sourced narrative.
  • Design and front-end craft.
  • SEO fundamentals.
